Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who We Are
Nomad Ledger is a personal tracking tool that helps digital nomads organize information related to tax residency, travel history, documents, financial accounts, and businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
For any privacy question, contact us at hey@nomadledger.co.
2. Data We Collect
We only collect what the Service needs to work. Specifically:
- Account data — your email address, and your name if you provide it (or if it is supplied by Sign in with Apple or Google when you choose that sign-in method).
- Data you enter — travel entries, flights, accommodations, trips, nationalities, tax rules, documents, insurance policies, bank accounts, businesses, and transactions.
- Location & timezone — used to detect the country you are currently in so your days can be counted. This is only used inside the app.
- Photo metadata — if you use the photo trip-import feature, the dates and locations of your photos are read on your device only. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored by us.
- Subscription status — handled by Apple (in-app purchases) or Stripe (web). We never see or store your card number.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the Service to you: counting your days per country, evaluating the tax rules you configure, alerting you before thresholds and document expiries, and displaying your own financial overview.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build user profiles for any purpose beyond running the features you use.
4. We Never Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use no tracking or advertising cookies.
The only third parties that process data on our behalf are our infrastructure providers, strictly to run the Service: hosting (Switzerland/Germany), Apple (in-app subscriptions), and Stripe (web subscriptions).
5. Storage & Security
Your data is hosted on servers located in Switzerland and Germany. It is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. Access is restricted and every collection is scoped so that a user can only ever read or write their own records.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we apply industry-standard measures to protect your data.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Export your data in a portable form
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact hey@nomadledger.co.
7. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the app: go to Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. On the web, the same option is available under Settings.
This deletion is immediate and irreversible: your account and every record attached to it (travel, flights, documents, finances, businesses, and everything else) are erased. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription — manage that from your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Once you delete your account, your data is removed. We keep no shadow copy or backup profile of deleted accounts beyond what is strictly required by law.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
11. Contact
For any question regarding this policy or your personal data, contact us at hey@nomadledger.co or on X (Twitter) at @nomad_ledger.
